Town leaders in Clermont will discuss the potential for alcohol sales in the town's boundaries — and the businesses looking to leave because of it — at a special meeting next week.
The Clermont Town Council will hold a special called meeting Monday evening at city hall at 7 p.m., officials confirmed in an email to AccessWDUN.
Papa's Pizza To-Go tried to be de-annexed into the county in 2015, but later withdrew the application, according to Hall County Spokeswoman Katie Crumley.
There have been several attempts over the years to legalize alcohol sales in the otherwise dry North Hall town, but all have come up short.
In Aug. 2015, Councilman John Brady attempted to get the issue put on the ballot for that year, but no other council members voted in favor of the motion.
Brady tried to limit the sales to the U.S. 129 corridor.
