One person was checked out by EMS after a residential fire in Cleveland Monday afternoon.

The call to 412 Briarwood Drive, Cleveland, was received at 12:18 p.m., said White County Public Safety Director David Murphy. Fire units from White County, Cleveland and Lee Arrendale State Prison were dispatched.

When firefighters arrived, they found smoke inside the home, originating from an electric stove, Murphy said. Power to the home was shut off and the home was cleared of smoke.

A male on scene was checked out on scene by White County Emergency Medical Services personnel, but that person was not transported for treatment, according to Murphy.
