Charges are pending against a Winder woman after a weekend wreck in Banks County.

The single-vehicle wreck on Ga. 59 at Brown Bridge Road was reported at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

A red 2005 Ford Focus driven by Natashia Faye Nash, 31, of Winder was traveling west on Brown Bridge Road, failed to maintain its proper lane and traveled off the north shoulder of the roadway, said Cpl. Nick Jenkins of Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville.

"The passenger's side of Vehicle 1 struck a tree alongside the roadway and the force generated by the collision split Vehicle 1 in half," Jenkins said.

Jenkins said the rear portion of the car came to rest in the eastbound lane of Brown Bridge Road. The front portion of the car came to rest off the north shoulder of Brown Bridge Road.

Charges facing the driver are currently pending, Jenkins said.

There also was passenger in the car, identified as Brianna Leigh Samples, 22, of Hoschton.
