Three days after taking the oath of office at the State Capitol in Atlanta, rookie representative Matt Dubnik (R-Gainesville) has gotten his committee assignments.

Dubnik was named to the Game, Fish and Parks Committee, Higher Education Committee and Interstate Cooperation Committee.

“It is an incredibly humbling experience to be a part of the Georgia General Assembly,” said Dubnik in a statement.

“Having my family by my side as I took the oath of office was something I will never forget. I am excited to serve the people of the 29th House District, as well as all my fellow Georgians, and I pledge to work tirelessly on any issue that comes across my desk.”

Dubnik filled the post vacated by Carl Rogers, who decided not to run for re-election after 22 years in the position.
