BALDWIN -- A single-car wreck in Habersham County claimed the life of a Mt. Airy woman just after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Marsha Dodd, 57, was traveling south on Ga. 384 (Duncan Bridge Road) negotiating an uphill left curve at the time of the wreck.

That's according to  Trooper 1st Class Aaron Church of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.

The car traveled off the roadway and onto the right shoulder, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree with its right front, Church said.

The car then struck a tree with its left front and driver's door, coming to rest facing west off the roadway.

Dodd was pronounced dead at the scene, said Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time," McEntire said.
