Robbery charges dismissed against Lanier High football player

One of three Lanier High School students allegedly involved in a robbery has had his charges dropped.

Colin Burress's case was dismissed Tuesday, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.

The Post reports Chief District Attorney Dan Mayfield said there was insufficient evidence to prosecute Burress.

Marcko Baity and Marco Lopez both still face charges in the case. Burress and Baity play on the school's football team, according to the school's roster.

The three and a juvenile were charged in the case after the victims alleged they robbed the victims with a gun that turned out to be a realistic-looking pellet gun last week. A neighbor reportedly captured part of the incident on a cellphone.
