Gainesville man arrested for attempted rape at Gainesville fast food restaurant

A Gainesville man is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault an employee at a Gainesville fast food restaurant over the weekend.
 
Demetrius Miguel Render faces charges of attempted rape, false imprisonment and simple battery in connection with the incident at Dairy Queen on Green Street.
 
According to Gainesville Police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook, the incident happened Saturday around 3 p.m.
 
"He coerced her - the victim - into a restroom. At that time, the suspect, Mr. Render grabbed the victim, attempted to sexually assault the victim; however the victim was fortunately able to fight back, was able to get away, get out of the restroom and seek the help of other employees at the business," Holbrook said.
 
Render was arrested shortly after, Holbrook said. Render remains in the Hall County Jail without bond.
 
Few other details about the case have been released.
