Authorities continue to investigate the armed robbery of a Forsyth County bank Tuesday afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m., a suspect — described as a 35-40-year-old black man between 6' and 6'2" and weighing 200-220 pounds — robbed the Foothills Community Bank on Bethelview Road, causing bank employees to trigger the silent alarm.

"He was wearing panty hose for a mask along with a white construction hard hat, neon yellow shirt and white tennis shoes," said Epifanio Rodriguez, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

The suspect brandished a firearm, but never fired any shots, said Rodriguez; nobody was hurt.

The man then fled the scene in a stolen 2006 Saturn Vue, which was later found abandoned.

He stole an undisclosed amount of cash from one of the registers.
