CLEVELAND — Qualifying is underway this week in White County for a special election in November.
The special election will be non-partisan and will fill a vacancy on the White County Board of Education, created by the resignation of Roger Fitzpatrick, says White County Election Superintendent Garrison Baker.
The November winner will serve the remainder of Fitzpatrick's unexpired term through Dec. 31, 2018.
Qualifying will run through noon Friday, and will be held in the office of probate judge, located in the White County Courthouse.
Persons wishing to qualify as a candidate must be a resident of Board of Education District 2 and must have lived in White County for 12 months prior to the election.
The last day to register to vote in the special election will be Oct. 12.
