White County man gets new term on state board

A White County man has been named to a new term on the state Board of Juvenile Justice.

Fred Stephens of Cleveland is currently serving as the interim police chief for the Clarke County School District Police Department. He retired from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation after more than 31 years of service and then served as the assistant police chief of support service and field operations for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. 

The reappointment was made by Gov. Nathan Deal.
