Gainesville city council members are moving forward with $1,047,423 worth of funding for nine road resurfacing projects within the city limits.

$247,423 of that funding comes from a grant provided by the Georgia Department of Transportation, according to Matt Tarver, Senior Civil Engineer, and $635,000 will come from the SPLOST Capital Projects Fund.

The contract for the paving was awarded to Allied Paving Contractors, Inc, the lowest of four bidders for the work.

Below is a list of all the paving projects that will take place if council approves the final motion for the projects:

Crews will also reconstruct 2.1 miles of Wills Street.

City council will consider formal adoption of the resolution at its next voting session.
