DEPUTY: Double shooting in Forsyth County is domestic-related

Posted 1:35PM on Monday 30th May 2016 ( 7 years ago )
Forsyth County authorities said a double shooting early Monday morning was the result of a domestic-related incident.

Investigators believe Ronald Eric Lofland, 47, shot a man and woman at a home on Darla Avenue.   Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez said Lofland is believed to be either the husband or ex-husband of the female victim.

"What actually led up to the fact of two people being shot, I don't have that information, but it is definitely a domestic-related incident," Rodriguez said.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital and are expected to survive.  Rodriguez said the woman was set to be discharged from the hospital Monday.  The male victim underwent surgery Monday morning.

Lofland remained on the run Monday afternoon.

"We don't believe that the general public is in danger, however he has just shot two people, and we do believe him to be armed, so if anyone comes in contact with him, don't approach him, just immediately call us," Rodriguez said.

Deputies believe Lofland was driving a gold, 2003 Jeep Liberty.  Its Georgia tag number is PXL-8529.

Authorities responded to the shooting incident around midnight, Rodriguez said.
