GBI announces reward in Rabun County Bank robbery

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced today that a $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man responsible for the robbery of Rabun County Bank earlier this year.

Rabun County Bank at 7408 U.S. 441 North, Dillard, was robbed about 12:50 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

According to the GBI, the black male suspect left the scene in a late 1990s black Ford Explorer. He is described as six-foot-two to six-foot-four, with a light complexion, heavy build, and at least one visible tattoo and a facial piercing. Officials say he possibly in his late 20s or early 30s

The GBI, Rabun County Sheriff’s Office and Dillard Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. 

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the GBI Tip Line at (800) 597-8477 or Rabun County Sheriff's Office at (706) 782-6226.
