ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Police in Athens say a woman is dead after being struck by a train.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1NZCJdz ) the fatal collision happened Thursday morning. Athens Clark-County police Capt. Mark Magnuson said the woman was walking on the railroad tracks shortly before 8 a.m. and did not move when the engineer of the approaching train blew its horn.
