Officials with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources are continuing to search for a man who went missing in Lake Lanier Saturday evening.

Mark McKinnon with the DNR said 57-year-old Jerry Kornmeier of Snellville was last seen on a boat near Cocktail Cove near Buford. Officials were called at around 5:00 p.m. Saturday and searched that night and all day Sunday, but were unable to locate Kornmeier.

The search has been suspended for the night, but McKinnon said they will resume the search Monday morning 9:00 with help from the Hall County Sheriff's Office and the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. He also advised boaters to avoid that area of the lake so crews could more easily conduct their search.

Two bodies have already been recovered from Lake Lanier this year, including one last week.
