A mid-February holiday for Gainesville city school students apparently won't happen because of that bit of snow and ice that hit the area a few weeks ago.

School officials are reminding parents and students, alike, that, if all goes as planned, Monday will be a regular school day,   The "if" in the equation is the threat of more freezing precipitation Monday, in the form of freezing rain and snow.

That reminder was part of a weekly newsletter that was sent out last week.

"Monday, February 15, 2016 will be a student make-up day, and students should report to school," the notice reads.  "The district had implemented this date within the 2015-2016 school calendar to be utilized in case of inclement weather."

Meanwhile, there are no changes in plans for Hall County schools to be closed on Monday, which is President's Day.
