North Georgia Technical College Director of Economic Development Tim Bennett will assume duties as the Currahee campus director beginning January 2017. Current campus operations director Greg Roach is retiring Dec. 31 after serving 20 years at NGTC.

Bennett began working at NGTC at 2000 as an Industrial System Technology instructor on the Blairsville NGTC campus. After several years in the classroom, he moved to Economic Development where he served as the Director for Customized Training for Union, Towns, White, Fannin, Stephens, Franklin, Rabun and Habersham Counties. A native of Franklin County, Bennett will begin his duties at Currahee on Jan. 3.

“During the past 15 years, Tim has built very strong relationships with all of our companies throughout our eight county service area,” said NGTC President Dr. Mark Ivester.

“We know he will continue building these strong manufacturing relationships and work towards growing our existing and new industry partnerships as our Director of Economic Development. We are excited for Tim as his responsibilities expand to include management of Currahee’s activities and he continues to be a leader within our NGTC family.”
