COAL MOUNTAIN — Dawson County fell behind 12-0 to start and never recovered as the Tigers fell 50-36 to Class AAAA No. 7 St. Pius Tuesday in the Progressive Lighting Thanksgiving Tournament at North Forsyth High School.
The Tigers (2-2) pulled within 14-6 at the end of the first quarter but the Golden Lions (2-1) used a 15-9 second quarter to take a 29-15 halftime lead. Dawson County chipped away getting to within six points with three minutes left but could get no closer.
Cullen Reed led Dawson County with 17 points.
Dawson County will take off until Dec. 2 when it plays host to Blessed Trinity.
