Incumbent Republican candidate Jeff Stowe will retain his position on the Hall County Commission after registering a 17-point victory in Tuesday's election.

Stowe defeated Democratic challenger Angela Middleton in the race for the Post 4 seat on the commission, garnering 5,446 votes, while Middleton received 3,865.

"I'm just very excited that what we've done the last four years was apparently approved by the voters today," Stowe said shortly after results were finalized.

The vote totals gave Stowe a 58.5% share of the voting base, easily defeating Middleton's share of 41.5%.

In a conversation with AccessWDUN held shortly after the race was called, Stowe spoke about his main priorities moving forward.

"We currently have under contract property on the south side to develop a park; that'll be one of my number one priorities, getting that closed and then working with a team to develop what we'll do in that area for that park," he said.

"And also continuing the good financial trends that we've had," he added. "Being able to lower our millage rate and adding to our fund balance; just continuing the good things we've had going for the last three or four years."
