Buford volleyball will play for a second straight state title, while North Hall saw its historic run come to an end on Wednesday.

The fourth-seeded Lady Trojans came out ready to pull the upset of top-seeded Westminster in the Class AAA semifinals in Atlanta, taking the opening set 25-19.

But the Lady Wildcats fired back with three straight sets -- 25-17, 25-22, 25-13 -- to seal the victory and halt North Hall's deepest ever postseason march.

North Hall also finished the season as Area 7-AAA champs and will return the bulk of its team in 2017.

Meanwhile, in the Class AAAAA semifinals, Buford made short work of Ola.

The Lady Wolves stormed to a straight sets sweep -- 25-14, 25-11, 25-12 -- moving on to Saturday's championship match at Marietta High School, where they will face McIntosh -- which knocked off Whitewater 3-1 in the other semifinal -- at apporximately 1:30 p.m.

Buford volleyball took out Ola on Wednesday in the Class AAAAA semifinals to earn a spot in the state championship match on Saturday in Marietta.
