CLEVELAND — An injured dog bit a White County deputy sheriff who was attempting to render aid Tuesday morning.

Deputy Ken Daniels had responded to a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a dog on Ga. 17, said Capt. Tim Chapman of White County Sheriff's Office.

Daniels was assisting the dog's owner with getting the injured animal into a vehicle to be transported for treatment when the dog bit the officer on his left hand, Chapman said.

The incident happened around 11 a.m.

Daniels received three stitches to close up the wound, Chapman said.
