A Maysville woman and her 12-year-old daughter were killed in a wreck in Jackson County Sunday afternoon.

The Georgia State Patrol said Billie Regina Shockley's vehicle collided head-on with a Dodge Ram truck being driven by Octavio Montez of Pendergrass on Holly Springs Road near Diamond Hill Church Road

Shockley's daughter, Alexis, was in the back seat behind the driver. The child died at the scene; the mother, age 30, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Montez was treated at the scene for injuries.

The deadly crash occurred just after 4 p.m. Investigators have not said who was at fault.
