Gainesville Police Friday morning were investigating the reported armed robbery of Quik Serve Convenience Store on Athens Street.

Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said a female store clerk was reportedly robbed at gunpoint around 10:30 a.m.  The investigation is ongoing, but police released a preliminary description.

"(He's) described as a black male wearing all black.  (The) subject does have a gold tooth.  Anyone with any information or does see anything, please contact us immediately," Holbrook said.

Holbrook said the store clerk suffered minor injuries during the ordeal.

"That's still something that we're looking at.  It's believed that she possibly was struck with something or an item during the robbery attempt," Holbrook said.

Authorities said the crime occurred inside of the store located near Monroe Drive.  Holbrook said the suspect reportedly left the property on foot.

Investigators didn't immediately know if the suspect made off with anything during the incident.
