A driver suffered visible injuries when the fuel tanker he was driving overturned on Ga. 323 in Banks County Tuesday morning.

James Crace of Hall County lost control of the gas truck when the right side tires dropped off the pavement, said Sgt. Anthony Coleman of Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville.

"The truck re-entered the roadway and then overturned, possibly two times," Coleman said.

The wreck happened between Gillsville and the Grove River near Sims Harris Road.

The truck, owned by Harrison Oil Co., was hauling diesel fuel and hydraulic oil.

There was a "mild amount" of leakage, Coleman said.

Crace is not facing charges, and was not taken from the scene for treatment of his injuries.

The crash shut down Ga. 323 for about four hours.
