It has been a few years since the Gainesville School Board and the Gainesville City Council have held a joint meeting, but the two groups plan to revive the tradition on Monday night.

The agenda for the meeting includes everything from discussion of graduation rates for the school system to the city's much-debated stormwater fee proposal.

Board members and commissioners also plan to discuss a change to the city's slogan, adding the word "learn" to emphasize the important of education for Gainesville. (The current slogan for the city is "Live, Work,Play" and the new slogan would read "Live, Learn, Work, Play.")

According to the agenda, the two groups also plan to discuss continued collaboration with the city council and the school board.

The joint meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, January 11 at the school board office at 508 Oak Street.
