GSP releases details of Monday wreck in Habersham

TOCCOA - Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa has released details of a wreck that essentially shut down Georgia Highway 105 (Cannon Bridge Road) in the area of Midway Electric Monday afternoon.

The wreck happened at 5:26 p.m. on Cannon Bridge Road in the area of Twin River Orchard Road.


A 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 25-year-old Brittany A. Braun of Cornelia was traveling north on Cannon Bridge Road and cross the center line and struck the front of an oncoming vehicle.

The oncoming vehicle was a 2011 GMC Terrain driven by 34-year-old Lauren C. Youngblood of Cornelia.

After impact, Youngblood's SUV ran off the roadway and traveled down an embankment, coming to a stop facing north off the west shoulder of the roadway.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Habersham Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Braun was cited for failure to maintain lane.

The Georgia State Patrol reports that the driver of a Pontiac Grand Prix was cited after the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a sport utility vehicle Monday afternoon in Habersham County.
A 2011 GMC Terrain left the roadway and traveled down an embankment near Midway Electric after being struck head-on Monday afternoon in Habersham County.
