Heading into the season Jefferson coaches and players knew that Colby Wood would be an asset.
Two games into the campaign the sophomore running back is beginning to out-run even the highest expectations, however.
Wood has rolled up 503 yards rushing on 60 carries, scoring eight total touchdowns to help the Dragons move to 2-0. In fact he has had a hand in every touchdown Jefferson has scored so far on this young campaign.
This past week's performance was especially impressive, as Wood rushed for 239 yards and four scores, caught a 21-yard touchdown pass and also came up big on defense, where he recovered a fumble, intercepted a pass and recorded a tackle for loss in a 32-17 defeat of Winder-Barrow.
