SUGAR HILL — The Gainesville High volleyball team improved its record to 11-4 on Tuesday via wins over host Lanier (23-25, 25-13, 25-15) and Meadowcreek (25-7, 25-15).
The Lady Red Elephants were led by Sydney King with 2 aces, 26 digs and 3 assists, while Tangi Miller had 4 kills and 2 aces; Bessie Winston had 6 kills and 4 digs; Sally Callahan had 2 aces and 4 digs; Tanai Watson had 10 killls, 7 aces and 12 digs; Cori Griffith had 9 kills; Abby Alexander had 12 kills and 3 blocks; Anna Wiley had 4 kills and 2 aces; and Savannah Roys added 7 kills, 12 digs and 42 assists.
Gainesville travels to Flowery Branch next Tuesday to begin Region 8-AAAAA play in a tri-match with Loganville and Flowery Branch.
