Runoff elections are being held today in Flowery Branch and Forsyth County.

Flowery Branch voters are trying to fill a vacancy on the city council. The top vote-getters during a June 16 special election were Monica Beatty and Nicole Kriews. . The winner will fill the unexpired term of Tara Richards, who resigned earlier this year.

In Forsyth County, the runoff is for a state House seat. Sherri Smallwood Gilligan and David M. Van Sant came out on top in a special election also held June 16.

The winner will replace Mark Hamilton, who resigned a few months ago.
