GAINESVILLE - A bicyclist was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a car Monday near Gainesville.
Sargeant Anthony Coleman with the Georgia State Patrol said 34-year-old Demetri Lowry was riding a small bicycle northbound on Highway 129 just South of Gainesville when he was sideswipped by an unidentified passenger vehicle. The vehicle, which was also driving northbound, fled the scene.
Lowry was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Coleman said no further details were available.
