GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) Greenville-based CertusBank is closing its downtown headquarters and is selling its operations.

The bank has been struggling amid regulatory concerns and financial losses.

CertusBank said Monday that it has agreements to sell its deposits, certain loans and branches in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. CertusBank has branches in north Georgia, including those in Jefferson, Commerce and Cornelia.

CertusBank said customers can expect operations to continue normally throughout the sale, which is expected to happen by the end of the year.

The High Point-based Bank of North Carolina said it's taking over all of CertusBank's South Carolina locations, except for the downtown Greenville headquarters.

Community & Southern Bank in Atlanta is buying certain loans and deposits from 15 CertusBank locations in Georgia and Florida.

CertusBank said the sale provides the best possible outcome for customers, communities, employees and stakeholders.
