LAWRENCEVILLE - Lawrenceville police are investigating after a vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the side of a daycare center Tuesday afternoon.
Gwinnett Fire Captain Tommy Rutledge said two children received minor injuries when the van apparently lost control on Scenic Highway near Longleaf Drive around 4:30 p.m. and collided with the right side of the structure, coming to rest inside the building.
Rutledge said the children were transported to a local hospital for evaluation, while the van's driver was treated by paramedics at the scene for a minor injury complaint before being released.
While the exterior wall suffered extensive damage in the accident, no estimate was given as to the financial extent of the damage.
As the accident occurred within Lawrenceville City Limits, Rutledge said city police are handling the subsequent investigation.
