BLACKSHEAR -- Jefferson split with Pierce County Wednesday in the second round of the Class AAA state playoffs.
The Dragons took Game 1 behind the pitching of Micah Carpernter.
In Game 2, the score was tied 1-1 after the fourth inning but Pierce County scored twice in the fifth off a pair of Jefferson errors. Jefferson scored once in the seventh and got the winning to the plate but could not get thge equalizer, Ethan Garmer took the loss for the Dragons.
The deciding Game 3 will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday in Bleackshear.
