GAINESVILLE -- Alyssa Yarck scored two goals to lead the Chestatee girls soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Heritage, Catoosa Tuesday in the first round of the Class AAAA state playoffs.

The win moves Chestatee (13-6) into the Sweet 16 for the second time in program history. The Lady War Eagles, who are 9-1 at home this season, next will play host to West Laurens next Tuesday. West Laurens, the No. 4 seed from Region 2-AAAA, stunned Region 1-AAAA champion Thomas County Central 5-4 in the first round.

Stacey Mendoza set up Yarck's first goal early in the first half to give Chestatee a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute.

It stayed that way until early in the second half. Yarck scored her second goal knocking in a loose ball in the goal area just five minutes into the half. Chestatee got the insurance goal late in the match when Mendoza set up Sadie Foote.

Samantha Addington led the defensive unit along with keeper Tyler Bennett, who recorded the shutout with three saves.
