Baseball: Hammond pitches North Hall past Johnson

OAKWOOD -- North Hall used a four-run third inning to and pounded out 10 hits in taking a 7-0 win over Johnson Wednesday in Region 8-AAAA action.

The Trojans (13-7, 8-4 Region 8-AAAA) led 1-0 on a Drew Coker RBI hit in the first inning. It stayed that way until the third.

Lincoln Hewett tripled to start the third for North Hall and then scored on a Corbin Lewallen single one batter later. Lewallen scored on a double by Fowler Brooks. Brock Wingo later knocked in two runs with a single to push the lead to 5-0.

North Hall added single runs in the fourth and fifth to put it out of reach.

Josh Hammond earned the win on the mound going five innings allowing just three hits and striking out three.
