ATLANTA (AP) The Georgia House has approved a bill adding threats made on computers or other electronic devices to the state's bullying law.

The 140 to 26 vote on Friday sends the bill to the Senate for consideration.

Sponsor Rep. Pam Dickerson, a Democrat from Conyers, says Georgia is one of 32 states without laws specific to cyberbullying. Her bill would also apply the bullying law to electronic threats directed toward students or school staff, even if they are sent outside of school grounds.

Republican Rep. Mike Dudgeon says lawmakers in a committee that reviewed the bill narrowly tailored it to include strong cases of specific threats.
