GAINESVILLE - Gainesville attorney Michelle Hall has announced she will be seeking election to the Hall County State Court.
The announcement from Hall comes shortly after Chief Judge Charles S. Wynne's announcement he will retire at the end of his term in 2016.
"I basically became a lawyer because I wanted to be a judge, so that's always been one of my career goals," said Hall. "But I've had the privilege of sitting as the Municipal Court Judge in Flowery Branch over the past five years and it's just really a great experience."
Hall said she has practiced as a prosecutor, a defense attorney and handled civil law cases. "I think my career has uniquely prepared me to be able to do the job as a State Court Judge very effectively."
Hall began her career in the Hall County Solicitors Office in January 2003 and has served as an Assistant-Solicitor. She has served ten years as a Gainesville attorney specializing in criminal defense, family law and juvenile law at her law firm, The Law Office of Michelle Hall. Most recently, Hall has served as the Municipal Court Judge in Flowery Branch.
