DEMOREST — The East Hall girls basketball team continued its strong start to the season on Tuesday, pushing past Lakeview Academy 61-51 to claim the Piedmont College Hardwood Classic in Demorest.
Ashlyn Ellison wrapped up an MVP-winning performance with 21 points to pace the Lady Vikings. Teammate Kylah Mize also scored 18 points to help earn all-tournament honors.
Lakeview’s Hannah Grogan also scored 19 points and was named all-tournament for her performances.
East Hall will play again on Saturday in the Holiday Hoopsgiving tournament at Holy Innocents.
Lakeview will travel to face Bradley Central in Cleveland, Tenn., on Friday.
