DEMOREST - The recent Piedmont College 5K Color Run raised $1,000 for Grace Gate, a Habersham County organization that helps area residents without health insurance.

Students Alex Childers of Winder and Tanner Free of Dublin organized the event as part of a marketing class project.

Childers said more than 15 students were involved in organizing the run. “In the future, we hope to make the color run an annual event that benefits a different charity each year,” he said.
