GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville woman was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole Tuesday, the last of five defendants in the murder or attempted robbery of a Gainesville cab driver.

Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh said Margarita Leanos was found guilty by a jury around 3 p.m. Tuesday, and was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole in Hall County Superior Court.

"Upon being sentenced, she received a sentence of life with the possibility of parole and the criminal intent to commit armed robbery was merged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery" said Darragh.

"She got a ten years to serve sentence, which was concurrent with the life sentence. The two gang act violations resulted in a total sentence of 30 years to do 10 years consecutive to the felony murder life sentence."

Leanos was charged as an accomplice in the murder of Isaias Tovar-Murillo, a cab driver that was shot an killed earlier this year.

The woman who pulled the trigger was convicted and sentenced to life in prison earlier this week. Three others in the case pleaded guilty.
