GAINESVILLE — North Hall battled Buford for every inch in the first half on Friday in Gainesville.

But the defending Region 8-AAAA and Class AAAA champs flexed their collective muscle in the third quarter, as Buford scored 28 points just after halftime en route to a 49-0 victory at The Brickyard.

The Wolves (5-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAAA) rolled up 349 yards rushing, led by Martin Mangram's 102 yards (on eight carries) and two touchdowns. Anthony Grant added 94 yards and touchdown, while Christian Turner put up 60 yards. Joshua Blackwell also rushed for 41 yards and a score. Buford finished with total 412 yards -- while holding North Hall to 77.

The Trojans (2-4, 1-2) were led by 21 yards rushing from Jackson Madonna.

North Hall yielded just 14 first half points but could not keep pace.

The Trojans will look to bounce back next week against Madison County on the road.

Buford will play host to Monroe Area next week.

North Hall's Sam Jackson tries to find running room against the Buford defense on Friday in Gainesville.
