Sen. David Perdue tapped to lead 2 Senate subcommittees

ATLANTA (AP) A freshman senator from Georgia has been chosen to lead Senate Agriculture and Foreign Relations subcommittees. <br /> <br /> Republican Sen. David Perdue has been named chairman of the Subcommittee on State Department and USAID Management, International Operations, and Bilateral International Development. <br /> <br /> The subcommittee responsible for overseeing the operations and budget of the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Virginia Democrat Tim Kaine is a ranking member of the nine-member subcommittee, which also includes Georgia Republican Johnny Isakson. <br /> <br /> Perdue has also been named as chairman of the Subcommittee on Conservation, Forestry and Natural Resources.
