Caterpillar closing Toccoa plant that employs 125

Caterpillar plans to close its foundry plant in Toccoa which employs 125 people. The plant's work will be moved to the company's Mapleton, Illinois, foundry. <br /> <br /> Meanwhile, a Caterpillar factory in Franklin, N.C., that that makes seals for heavy equipment is closing by the end of next year, leaving 150 people without jobs. <br /> <br /> Franklin Mayor Bob Scott says the town learned about the closing of the plant Thursday. <br /> <br /> Caterpillar says it will try to help workers find jobs at other factories and will pay severance packages.
