Mt. Airy fox tests negative for rabies

MT. AIRY - A fox captured Friday afternoon at Mount Airy Town Park tested negative for rabies.<br /> <br /> Habersham County Animal Care and Control Director Madi Hawkins confirmed the test results Wednesday night, noting she was surprised.<br /> <br /> The fox was foaming at the mouth at the time of its capture. It was euthanized and sent off for testing.<br /> <br /> The animal was captured on the lower level, where overflow parking for the park is located. It was not in the playground, picnic shelter and walking trail area.
