Theft ring trio arrested by Gainesville, Oakwood Police

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville Police Department, working in conjunction with the Oakwood Police Department and the North Georgia Major Offenders Safe Streets Task Force, has charged three Gainesville subjects with operating a theft ring and gang charges. <br /> <br /> According to Gainesville Police spokesman Corporal Kevin Holbrook on August 17th officers encountered three subjects who were in possession of a stolen vehicle.<br /> <br /> Further investigation showed that the subjects were responsible for a number of thefts in the Gainesville and Oakwood area according to Holbrook. <br /> <br /> "Investigators have charged the subjects with motor vehicle thefts and entering autos in and around the Gainesville area. Police recovered stolen items including vehicles, and stereos," Holbrook said. <br /> <br /> Individuals taken into custody and charges against them are as follows:<br /> <br /> <U>Carlos Alfredo Lopez-Romero</U><br /> Gainesville, Georgia<br /> 20 years of age<br /> <br /> Charges:<br /> Possession Marijuana <br /> Theft by Receiving (2 counts)<br /> Violation Georgia Street Gang Act <br /> <br /> <U>Francisco Dominguez</U> <br /> Gainesville, Georgia<br /> 17 years of age<br /> <br /> Charges:<br /> Possession of Marijuana <br /> Theft by Taking<br /> Enter Car to Steal<br /> Theft by Receiving <br /> Violation Georgia Street Gang Act<br /> <br /> <U>Antonio Denova</U><br /> Gainesville, Georgia<br /> 17 years of age<br /> <br /> Charges:<br /> Possession of Marijuana<br /> Obstruction of an Officer<br /> Theft by Receiving (2 counts) <br /> Violation Georgia Street Gang Act<br />
