He served in leadership positions as interim pastor at First Baptist in Gainesville, First Baptist Church in Cornelia, Northside Drive Baptist in Atlanta, First Baptist in Auburn, Ala., and First Baptist Church of Athens. He also served as president of Tallulah Falls School and sat on the board of trustees at Mercer University.

A Celebration of Life Service is planned for 2 p.m. Sept. 13 at First Baptist Church in Athens.

(A complete obituary can be found on the AccessNorthGa.com Obituaries page.)
