CLEVELAND -- White County's rushing attack is good, but Shannon Brooks showed that Pickens' ground game may be one of the best in the state on Friday.

Brooks ran for 304 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries to lead the Dragons past the Warriors 42-34 in Cleveland.

White County (0-1) put up several strong performances on the night, including 79 yards rushing for Sam Turner and 74 yards for Max Taylor -- who each scored a touchdown. Quarterback A.J. Vandiver also completed 3 of 6 passes for 69 yards, one touchdown and an interception. He also rushed for 43 yards.

Sutton caught the touchdown, taking advantage of a tipped ball from the Pickens defense to score from 49 yards.

Pickens took the lead and held it for much of the night, including at 42-20 before White County ripped off two quick scores to pull within 42-34. But the Dragons snagged an onside kick attempt and ground out a first down to seal the win.

White County will look to bounce back at Jackson County next week.
