FLOWERY BRANCH - Two suspects are in custody after they fled the scene of a break-in in Flowery Branch and lead authorities on a chase in two counties Tuesday afternoon.

At about 12:30 p.m., a homeowner contacted authorities after she saw three black males forcibly enter her home on Wilmington Way in Flowery Branch, according to Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes.

Bailes says the homeowner managed to leave her house and contact 911. Bailes says she gave patrol deputies a thorough description of the men and their car.

Bailes says one of the men escaped on foot, while two of the men left in the car.

"We had a very quick response time with our deputies and we actually had a deputy fall in behind the suspect vehicle briefly," Bailes said. However, the deputies lost contact with the two suspects in the vehicle.

Bailes said the deputies sent out a BOLO (be on the look out) of the car and two suspects to the Georgia State Patrol and Gwinnett County authorities, which Bailes says is the direction they were traveling.

"We were shortly notified that Georgia State Patrol had located the vehicle in the area of Pleasant Hill Road... they fled through Pleasant Hill and the area of Gwinnett Mall, striking several vehicles, several of those were occupied, they ultimately wrecked their vehicle into the parking lot of a Golden Corral," said Bailes.

Bailes said GSP and Gwinnett County police arrested the two suspects without incident. Bailes says the two are being interviewed this afternoon.

The third suspect, who escaped on foot, has not been located, but Bailes says authorities are continuing their search in the area with K-9 units.

Bailes said the suspects were spooked when they heard the homeowner and were not able to take anything from the home.

The suspects were charged with one count each of burglary in the first degree. Bailes says more charges are forthcoming, including traffic charges.

The identifies of the suspects will not be released at this time.
