Gainesville man dies following Tuesday morning car crash

GAINESVILLE - One day after a traffic accident in the Clermont area, an 80-year-old Gainesville man has died, apparently from injuries he suffered in the single vehicle crash.<br /> <br /> According to an accident report from the Georgia State Patrol, George Emory Bell, Sr., was driving southbound on Cleveland Highway just before 9 a.m. Tuesday. The report said Bell either suffered a medical emergency or fell asleep and drove off the shoulder of the highway near Clarks Bridge Road.<br /> <br /> He then over-corrected and traveled off the roadway, striking an embankment, a tree and a house.<br /> <br /> Bell was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with what appeared to be a head injury, according to the report.<br /> <br /> Bell died Wednesday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.<br />
