Accident, diesel fuel leak blocks Dawsonville Hwy. during morning rush

GAINESVILLE - It took about two hours, but Hazmat teams cleaned up a diesel fuel spill west of Gainesville that blocked morning rush hour traffic Thursday.<br />

About 100 gallons of fuel spilled onto Dawsonville Highway (Ga. SR 53) when a car and a tractor trailer collided around 7:30 a.m. at Sardis Road.<br />
<br />
The tractor trailer was loaded with equipment from City Plumbing & Electric, according to a spokeswoman with the Hall County Sheriff's Office. <br />
<br />
Authorities said no one was hurt.<br />

The roadways were re-opened just after 9 a.m.<br />

A tractor trailer is involved in an accident, but there are no injuries, according to authorities at the scene.<br />
<br />
The accident did lead to a tear in the diesel tank of the rig, and about 100 gallons of fuel has spilled in the area.<br />
<br />
At last report, Sardis Road is blocked; two westbound lanes of Dawsonville Highway are blocked, as well.<br />
